Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding at Camp Lake Hubert has its very own enclosed ring, pasture, and working barn, complete with an experienced string of horses and an eager staff of instructors to help campers learn and enjoy this activity. Camp Lake Hubert’s 20+ horses are leased from a local stable for the summer. Campers will learn riding skills, how to saddle and bridle, plus all the gates of horsemanship. Campers will also work together with staff to track their progress with an achievement-based awards system. Campers will be introduced and have the chance to become an integral part of feeding and brushing the horses, proper horse hygiene, and barn care. Camp Lake Hubert has many trails through wooded pine and birch for true enjoyment of the outdoors on horseback. For safety, campers must wear helmets at all times as well as long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes.

The independence the kids have in deciding their own activities and actions means a great deal in helping our girls grow up to be self-sufficient, confident women.
